A nature hotel in South Tyrol for anyone looking for something special

The Die Waldruhe hotel calls itself a nature hotel in South Tyrol – why? We, your host family, the Crazzolaras, think that no other name would be more appropriate for our hotel and for your holiday home in the mountains. We are more than happy to reveal to you why!

1. Our nature hotel’s location in South Tyrol

Our nature hotel is situated between Chienes/Kiens and Terento/Terenten on Val Pusteria/Pustertal’s Sun Road in South Tyrol. The sun-kissed location on the edge of a forest, between meadows and fields, makes Die Waldruhe, as the name which means “tranquillity of the forest” already reveals, the ideal place for anyone looking for peace and quiet. The calming silence combined with the fantastic panorama is the best basis for a successful holiday at the nature hotel in South Tyrol. At approx. 1,110 metres a stunning view opens up over Val Pusteria/Pustertal and the striking giants of the Dolomites, which paint a zigzag silhouette in the sky. It’s worth visiting Die Waldruhe hotel for this view alone!

2. Natural tasty cooking

Only the very best ingredients preferably of regional origin and often in organic quality are used in our Die Waldruhe kitchen. Our kitchen team conjures up tasty dishes out of them – sometimes classic, sometimes modern but always exquisite. Savour South Tyrol’s variety of flavours on your holiday in Val Pusteria/Pustertal! We’re sure you’ll love the mixture of traditional Alpine cooking and Mediterranean flavours: dumplings and pasta, roasts and ossobucco, kaiserschmarrn and tiramisu.

3. Be active: from the nature hotel in South Tyrol into the mountains

Another reason that speaks in favour of our nature hotel in South Tyrol are the many activities you can enjoy from our hotel. Various hikes start right in front of the hotel and apart from this Val Pusteria/Pustertal’s most stunning hiking routes can also be reached quickly. We offer you guided hikes including hiking taxi, among other things. You can also explore Val Pusteria/Pustertal just as well by MTB from our hotel. In winter, the ski bus takes you to nearby Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, South Tyrol’s no. 1 skiing mountain and one of 12 skiing regions in Dolomiti Superski. You can also explore the snowy winter wonderland on foot, sledge or touring skis. Head out and use our weekly programme to get to know the most beautiful aspects of the area around our nature hotel.

4. A natural lifestyle

At our hotel in Chienes/Kiens we have a natural, honest and authentic approach to our guests and love having the honour of familiarising them with our home in a very special way. This already starts at the nature hotel as South Tyrol doesn’t just stand for outdoor adventures but also for wellness, cosiness, sociability and warm hospitality. When designing our hotel, we paid particular attention to naturalness and were inspired by the surrounding area. The forest was inspiration for the use of lots of local wood, the sun for the large windows and the panorama for the unique rooftop terrace. It goes without saying that we felt very strongly about sustainable building with our renovation work. All of this so that you naturally feel at home here.

5. A sustainable attitude

Sustainability plays a huge role in our modern world. We can only hike in our mountains, enjoy their beauty and preserve the world as we value it for our descendants if we treat our environment with respect. Which is why we take sustainability into account in many areas at our nature hotel in South Tyrol: in the kitchen, with building work, in service, in terms of mobility
